Our Recent History

Several years ago Valparaiso Composite Squadron was a small squadron consisting of only a few members. Today, the squadron is at 50 cadets and 8 senior members. The amount of participation we have allows us to do some truly incredible things. Valparaiso Composite Squadron won the 2019 Wing and Region Ground Team of the Year has won five consecutive Quality Cadet Unit Awards and has sent a team to the National Cadet Competition. Our squadron is also very active in the mission of Aerospace Education as we teach Aerospace classes once a month to cadets and offer Orientation Flights every couple of months. Along with those many opportunities, and with the amount of higher-ranking cadets that we have, we're able to let them lead many of our classes and discussions and let them have a hands-on leadership experience.

This success of the squadron is largely in part to the dedicated and knowledgeable senior leadership at the squadron and their ability to mentor cadets.
